School speech-language pathologists (SLPs) report high paperwork demands, large caseloads, and a large volume of meetings as their most significant challenges. One potential solution to these issues is the utilization of speech-language pathology assistant (SLPA) services. But how do we successfully shift from the SLP-only model to the SLP/SLPA team approach to school service delivery? This workshop provides strategies and tools for SLPs and school administrators to implement when utilizing SLPA services. Topics include strategies for the hiring process, SLPA supervision procedures and tools, and enhancing SLP/SLPA communication and collaboration. Participants will leave this workshop with tools that are ready to use to ensure a successful and rewarding experience for the SLP, the SLPA, and the students served!
